UAnimals

Creating impactful designs to support Ukraine’s leading animal welfare organization in its mission to rescue, protect, and advocate for animals, while promoting humane ideals and driving legislative change.

About

UAnimals is a Ukrainian animal welfare organization.

Originally, the organization began its work by opposing large-scale animal exploitation in circuses and nowadays it turned to the all-Ukrainian humanitarian movement.

I joined the team as a creative and graphic designer. Over the years, the organization has made significant progress in raising public awareness, implementing rescue missions, and advocating for animal rights legislation. Additionally, a union named “Humane State” was established in the Ukrainian parliament to promote humane ideals and protect animals from violence.

Joining UAnimals has not only allowed me to contribute creatively as a designer but has also enriched my understanding of animal welfare and the importance of collaborative efforts in making a difference.

Today, together, we continue to strive for a humane and cruelty-free future for all animals of Ukraine.

All-Ukrainian March

Since 2017, UAnimals has initiated the All-Ukrainian March for Animal Rights, an annual event to support animal welfare across Ukraine. In 2021, we managed to organize the biggest animal rights rally march in Eastern Europe, with thousands of caring Ukrainians gathering in 30 locations at the same time.

I took on the responsibility of designing promotional materials, including posters, flyers, stickers, and social media content, tailored for 15 Ukrainian cities. Collaborating closely with the UAnimals team, we aimed to create visually compelling and informative materials that resonated with audiences and amplified the message of animal rights and protection. Our collective efforts and collaboration played a crucial role in raising awareness and mobilizing communities across Ukraine to join the cause.

Awareness & Engagement

Considering that the primary goal of these marches is to spotlight the issue of inhumane and cruelty to animals, our team’s mission was to maximize participation and awareness. To achieve this, we collaborated with local animal protection organizations in various cities, leveraging their networks to promote the march and spread the word via social media. Additionally, we engaged with leaders of thought such as bloggers, influencers, and celebrities who align with the movement’s ideals, tapping into their platforms to reach a broader audience and garner more support for animal welfare.

save animals in ukraine

After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, UAnimals took immediate action to assist animals affected by the conflict. Beyond sheltering and rehabilitating these animals, the organization mobilized volunteers to rescue those abandoned in zoos and farms amidst the chaos. Their efforts extended to evacuating animals from combat zones and distributing essential supplies like food and medical aid to shelters, zoos, and rehabilitation centers.

In an effort to bring global attention to the devastating impact of the war on Ukraine’s wildlife and environment, UAnimals organized a march in Warsaw, Poland. This event aimed to highlight the mass killing of animals and the ecocide perpetrated by Russia during the conflict. Tragically, thousands of Ukrainian animals face dire conditions daily, succumbing to hunger, dehydration, and injuries.

In support of these crucial initiatives, my role involved creating social media content to raise awareness and coordinating with local animal welfare organizations to secure support and mobilize volunteers for the cause.
